YouTube’s AI features have multiplied in recent months: several AI tools now sit directly inside YouTube itself. But they aren’t all in one place, and they aren’t active for every account. Some are in YouTube Studio, some in Shorts, some in the YouTube Create app, and some have only been announced.
In this article we review six of them. For each one, you’ll see what problem it solves, how to use it, and what its availability looks like. Availability follows YouTube’s official sources as of October 15, 2026.
The short version:
- Six features: Ask Studio, creative feedback, AI-assisted thumbnails, conversational editing, Reimagine, and auto-dubbing.
- Access differs from account to account; before you plan around a feature, check that it is active on your own account.
- Conversational editing has only been announced and has no official release date; Reimagine is also rolling out gradually.
- According to YouTube’s official guide, auto-dubbing from Persian currently supports English only, and the dub can’t be edited; listen to the whole thing before you publish.
- None of these tools guarantees views; small, consistent experiments matter more.
Which one do you need?
Start by naming your current problem, then look for the feature that fits it:
| Your need | Best-fit feature |
|---|---|
| Getting ideas and understanding your channel’s performance | Ask Studio |
| Improving a draft before it goes live | Creative feedback |
| Creating thumbnail concepts | AI-assisted thumbnails |
| Editing footage | Conversational editing |
| Remixing a Short | Reimagine |
| Reaching an audience in another language | Auto-dubbing |
1. Ask Studio: your analysis and brainstorming assistant
Ask Studio is the AI assistant built into YouTube Studio. You can use it to analyze your channel’s performance and to brainstorm ideas. The quality of its answers depends on how precise your question is: a specific question gets an answer close to your real channel data and leads to a practical decision.
Suggested example (not a tested output):
“In my last 10 videos, which ones kept the most viewers in the first 30 seconds, and what do they have in common?”
Here is how it works: your question is about early retention, the data you need is audience retention, and the decision you make is how to rewrite your video openings.
Availability: for most creators, only on the web desktop version. It is not available to users under 18 or to channels made for kids. If you can’t see its icon in Studio, it hasn’t reached your account yet.
2. Creative feedback: before you publish
This feature lives inside Ask Studio. You give it a script or a draft video (private or Unlisted), and it gives you suggestions based on creative principles and retention data. The output is a suggestion, not a verdict.
One concrete use is to evaluate just the opening of your video: the first 30 seconds, the pacing, how clear the message is, and the ending.
Suggested example:
“Review only the first 30 seconds of this video: where might a viewer get confused or lose interest?”
This tool doesn’t predict whether a video will go viral. Its job is to help make your message clearer. Availability conditions are the same as Ask Studio and depend on your account.
3. AI-assisted thumbnails: generating concepts, not testing them
Ask Studio can generate thumbnail concepts from your video’s topic, and you refine them by chatting. But generating a concept is different from testing it. Which concept performs better is something only real viewers can tell you.
- Generating concepts: done with generative AI, for example three ideas such as “3 Mistakes,” “Before/After,” and “In 10 Minutes.”
- A/B testing: tests up to 3 options. This is a testing tool, not a generative one.
- Dynamic thumbnails: announced. The idea is to show each part of your audience the option that works best for them. Check its status on your own account.
The result only becomes clear after a real test.
4. Conversational editing: editing with text commands
A Gemini-based assistant builds a first cut of your video. It can also suggest trimming, rearranging clips, and syncing cuts to the beat of the music. A manual timeline always stays in your hands.
Suggested example prompt:
“Trim the pauses between sentences and sync the cuts to the beat.”
Status: it was introduced for Shorts and the YouTube Create app at Made on YouTube (September 2026). No official release date has been announced yet.
5. Reimagine: one frame, a brand-new clip
In the Remix menu on an eligible Short, you pick a frame and use a prompt to say what should change. The Veo model generates an 8-second clip with audio that links back to the original Short.
Example prompt: Make it a rainy night with warm window light
After it’s generated, you preview it, edit it with the Shorts tools, and publish.
Availability: gradual rollout, and only for eligible Shorts. For now the prompt must be in English. Creators can opt their own videos out of remixing.
6. Auto-dubbing: reaching English-speaking audiences
For eligible videos, a translated audio track is generated, and viewers choose the audio language themselves. An important point for Persian-speaking creators: according to YouTube’s official guide, Persian is currently dubbed into English only.
Quality control before you publish
- Turn on the option to manually review dubs in the advanced settings.
- Listen to the whole dub, especially names, terminology, and jokes.
- The dub can’t be edited. If its quality isn’t good, don’t publish it.
Availability: videos up to 120 minutes, with enough speech and no copyrighted content. Review happens in the desktop version of Studio.

Next step: try just one
- Choose the feature that fits your current problem.
- See whether it’s active on your own account.
- Try it on one video and compare the result with before.
No tool guarantees views. It’s small, consistent experiments that build real learning. If you’re just starting out, you may also want to read our guide to creating a YouTube channel from scratch.
Frequently asked questions

According to YouTube’s official guide, Persian is currently dubbed into English only.
Will Ask Studio make my video go viral?
